Forever 21

I admit to knowing little about my favorite retailer. The only thing I have knowledge of is that the store base their clothing off of copying from high fashion designs. I also know that there are different types of the retail store that exist. Doin research on Forever 21, I learned new and more things about my favorite retailer.

Based in California, this retailer started April 21 1984 as 900 square ft. Fashion 21 in Los Angelos. The founders were Don Chang--who is also CEO of the company--and his wife. He then began to open new stores every six months, along with changing the name to Forever 21. There are 400 plus mall based stores in the United States as well as Canada with the name displays Forever 21, Forever XXI, and For Love 21. Gadzooks was also a part of these other stores if anyone remembers that store. But where I'm from, Gadzooks was closed and replaced with a Forever 21 store.

The first store

Forever 21's apparel is private label and made in the Southern part of California. The difference between Forever 21 and Forever XXI is the Forever XXI store is bigger than the classic Forever 21 stores. The store also offer Men as well as women clothing, something that the other store doesn't do. The retailer has competition from a few other retailers, but its top three competitors are Charlotte Russe, H&M, and Wet Seal.

The first Forever 21 store located in the mall opened in the Panorama mall in Panorama City, California. Along with being its 11th store, the size of the store expanded to 5,000 square ft as the average size. By 1997, the retailer totaled to fourty stores and was still growing every six months. Since 2002, Forever 21 Inc. has been ranked one of the 50 largest privately held companies in Los Angelos. With 90 new stores opening a year, Forever 21 is steadily growing.

Forever 21's largest store at 40,000 square ft and two levels.
In Pasadena, California.

Favorite Retailer

My favorite retailer is Forever 21. Alot of people don't like this retailer and have alot of negative things to say about it but I love this store. This store is the best appearance wise, I really like the clothes that they sell, the prices of their clothes are the best, and I'm always satisfied with what i buy.

Everytime I visit the mall I always have to go into forever 21. Even if I don't want to go into the store, its appearance attracts me and pulls me in. The store has a huge window display of all the latest fashions and you can see right through the entire store just from standing outside. The inside of the store is comfortable because of its spacious room and spaced out display of clothes. Everything is out in the open and there is no cramped spaces and plenty of room to walk. Forever 21 is one of the biggest stores I have ever been to and I love how there are different sections of the store that have certain themes to them.

As far as the clothes that the store sell, they have a wide variety for all ocassions. They sell jeans, dresses, coats and shoes of all kinds. Majority of the clothes in the store are cute and I always have a hard time with deciding what to buy which is a good thing. Even though Forever 21 is known for having knockoffs of expensive designers, I could care less because I think that people should be able to have designer type clothes at a price they can afford.

Another thing that I like about the store is their prices. The clothes are reasonable and affordable which is what I always look for when I'm shopping, because I am a big baragain shopper. Compared to other stores in the mall, I prefer the prices at Forever 21 because the prices are worth the clothes that I buy. Some stores have clothes that are high priced but not all that attractive, but in my opinion, the clothes in my favorite store are worth the price their listed as.

Whenever I buy something from Forever 21 I am satisfied with my purchase. The clothes and jackets fit just right and that's why it's my favorite store. I'm very petite with a very small waist and it's always hard to find the right pair of jeans that fit in that area. But when I got to Forever 21, every pair of jeans I've ever bought have fitted me just the way I liked. This store is the only place I buy my jeans from because I can never find any in any other store.
